Cooper City Optimist Baseball in partnership with the Broward Baseball Academy and the Kyle Kerr Foundation are hosting the 2014 Kyle Kerr Foundation Charity Softball Event on Sunday, November 2nd @ 10:30 AM. This awesome event will take place at the Broward Baseball Academy located on the David Posnack JCC campus (5850 Pine Island Rd). All proceeds from the event help the Kyle Kerr Foundation continue their mission for the community. The Kyle Kerr Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The ultimate goal of the foundation is to help families in the community by providing grants and scholarships to students, giving financial assistance to families in need, and providing athletes with means to continue their sport.

Words of Wisdom
"The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime"

~ Babe Ruth

He Is Just a Little Boy
He Is Just a Little Boy

He stands at the plate
with his heart pounding fast.
The bases are loaded,
the die has been cast.
Mom and Dad cannot help him,
he stands all alone.
A hit at this moment
would send his team home.
The ball meets the plate,
he swings and he misses.
There's a groan from the crowd,
with some boos and some hisses.

A thoughtless voice cries,
"Strike out the bum."
Tears fill his eyes,
the game's no longer fun.
So open up your heart
and give him a break,
for it's moments like this,
a man you can make.
Please keep this in mind
when you hear someone forget,
He is just a little boy,
and not a man yet.
